Owed To Gunney Marsh

I wrote this poem for one of my instructors, while at Tech School in the Air Force.  JAS

  • You taught us of pressure and the wind’s relation
  • And how to track fronts as they cross this great nation
  • You’ve shown us how to use thermal indication
  • And how to locate each minor perturbation
  • We’ve watched you find troughs with great fascination
  • Our speed has increased due to your instigation
  • But the one thing we hope to take back to each station
  • Is at least half as much of your imagination
